TITLE: PRECISION SHEET METAL MECHANIC “CLASS B”

SUMMARY

This occupation requires the set up and operation of precision sheet metal equipment. To fabricate sheet metal detail parts of light gauge material. The types of material include: all grade aluminum, stainless steel, cold roll steel (Approximately .010 to .250 thick). This occupation requires moderate physical exertion including lifting, bending and considerable time standing.

REQUIRED

Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in the set up and operation of various sheet metal fabrication equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Able to perform setups and operate various sheet metal related equipment.

2. Able to read and interpret blueprints.

3. Able to run an operation from start to finish and be responsible for own work.

4. Knowledge of mathematics and trigonometry a real plus.

5. Deburring and finishing work.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

1. Shear, punch press, unipunch, press brake, power notchers.

2. Fabricate parts to dimensional tolerances as required by engineering drawings.

3. Responsible for checking all operations from material gauge and type through shearing, punching or forming.

4. Figure shear sizes from basic engineering drawings.

5. Be willing to work at assigned jobs in or outside the sheet metal department.

6. Able to use 90 grinders, oscillators, files, body grinders, die grinders and degreasing.
