Prepare and submit government billing for firm fixed price, cost plus, progress billings and T&M type invoices.
Collaborate with Viasat business area finance directors and the Viasat contracts department on US government program requirements.
Evaluate and apply appropriate billing requirements in accordance with the US Federal Acquisition Regulation and Cost Accounting Standards as well as other contractual clauses and submit invoices through the use of various complex billing portals.
Collect on past due invoices.
Complete account reconciliations and process credits or adjustments as needed.
Assist on governmental audits including testing and other audit procedures.
Prepare final billing to the US government and related customers.
Help assess current internal processes and introduce new effective, efficient, and uniform processes.
Process final close out invoices.
Identify unapplied cash receipts.
Follow up on past due invoices.
Reconcile accounts and make adjustments as needed.
What you'll need
5+ years accounting, finance, or relevant experience
Bachelor s degree in Accounting
Heavy prior experience in billing
Intermediate to advanced skills in Excel
Excellent communication skills and ability to partner and build relationships with others within and outside the accounting team
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Self-motivated with ability to balance and prioritize competing demands
Comfortable dealing with ambiguity
U.S. Citizenship
